As you know a drone, when it comes to modern technology, is a remote-controlled pilot less aircraft or missile. Also known as UAVs, these machines are equipped with tools such as nose cameras, GPS or laser-guided bombs and/or missiles, and a multispectral targeting system that contains cameras and sensors. They are used mainly by the US military, and some key uses for stealth are intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. When it comes to protecting soldiers, these drones check for roadside bombs or devices on landing areas. Some more topics include listening to mobile phone conversations, helping understand daily routine of locals to see what is normal behaviour, close Air Support, and following or attacking suspected insurgents. A lot of soldiers in the military view drones as delivering precision strikes without the need for even more pesky military actions.
What are the fear of robotic technology. Most people believe its going to control the world, but most robotic technology are being controlled by humans. Our technology is improving every year. It even saves lives but it does end others. Robotic technology such as military drones have been a huge issue in our world. Drones have their positives but they even have negatives. Even if it has their negatives, Drones are a good thing. in our world, instead sending so much soldiers into a battlefield, we use drones to prevent that battlefield from happening, so we can stop the deaths of our soldiers. Drones are even used to eliminate terrorist and lower the risk of domestic attacks.
One of the big reason is drones kill fewer civilians, as a percentage of total fatalities, than any other military weapon. As a soldier we make human mistakes and get scared. that is being human, it is normal for us humans to be scared but it can cost a civilian’s life in a battlefield. When a soldiers are in tight situations such as being in another land that is unknown to them, and the enemy crawling everywhere on their native land. it will freak out soldiers, it rises their stress and anyone that pops up, innocent or enemy, it can scare a soldier and the trigger pulled. Same thing as a soldier dying in the enemy’s native land. The enemy always have an advantage when it comes to fighting on native land. So instead of sending human beings to fight our wars, we send drones to eliminate the enemy and their resources. Also the civilians death can rarely happen when drones are deployed.
Talking about stress of our soldiers, the author from drones.procon. stated ,“Drone pilots have a lower risk for post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) than pilots of manned aircraft and other battlefield soldiers. Drone pilots suffer less than traditional pilots because they do not have to be directly present on the battlefield, can live a normal civilian life in the United States, and do not risk death or serious injury. Only 4% of active-duty drone pilots are at "high risk for PTSD" compared to the 12-17% of soldiers returning from the the other side of the world”. PTSD. Its not whats wrong with you but its about what s happened to you. Therefore instead making our soldiers fight in a battlefield and seeing horrible things, let us send drones to get rid of the threat. Stress is one problem but drones are a solution for that.
But for our out of control budgets. Drone strikes are cheaper than engaging in ground or manned aerial combat. The author of drones.procons stated , “With approximately $5 billion allocated for drones in the 2012 Department of Defense budget, America's entire drone program be only about 1% of the entire annual military budget. US manned military attack aircraft cost anywhere from $18,000 to $169,000 per hour to operate - six to 42 times more than attack drones. Al Qaeda spent roughly half a million dollars to plan and execute the attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. In response, the United States spent roughly $2.2 trillion on funding manned air and ground wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and on homeland security costs in the following decade, over $4 million for every dollar al Qaeda spent.” Thats a lot of money spending for our country when Al Qaeda spent roughly half a million dollars to attack us. This is the reason why we have to save money, and use drones
Drones can make US military personnel safer. Drones are launched from bases in allied countries and are operated remotely by pilots in the United States, making the risk of injury and death lower, that would occur if ground soldiers and airplane pilots were used instead. the author of drone.procon stated “Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and their affiliates often operate in distant and environmentally unforgiving locations where it would be extremely dangerous for the United States to deploy teams of special forces to track and capture terrorists. Such pursuits may pose serious risks to US troops including firefights with surrounding tribal communities, anti-aircraft shelling, land mines, improvised explosive devices, suicide bombers, snipers, dangerous weather conditions, harsh environments, etc.” Drone strikes eliminate all of those risks common to "boots on the ground" missions.
Drones are a good cause for many reasons but what i’ve shared with you. drones can help our soldiers, and it can save a lot of money, also it can keep us safe for now. Yes there are some negatives but we have to do what we have to do to protect the lives of our soldiers and our american citizens. Therefore eliminating the enemies high profile and future attacks, with modern technology such as drones.
